It uses heat, typically between 280 and 320 degrees Fahrenheit, along with pressure inside a precision mold to actually melt the materials together. The result is a single, unified structure rather than layers held together with adhesive.
Why It Solves Two Real Problems
This matters more than it might sound. Gluing separate layers together creates bond lines, and those bond lines are exactly where paddles tend to fail.
